Disinfection

The company Niola is specialized in disinfestation of wooden and paper material (books, furniture, musical instruments, etc …).

For many years the company Niola is dedicated to the protection of Cultural Heritage (bibliographic and archival materials, works of art on paper and wood). We have developed effective methods of disinfection and disinfestation.
We focused in recent years the technique of controlled atmospheres. This methodology is to build in special casings process parameters that must remain constant for 21 days. The processed material is exposed to common modified atmosphere with inert gases such as nitrogen. This method in dealing with works of art on the spot and avoiding therefore any transfer, allows the destruction to anoxia parasites in their various stages of development. This is a method that compared to traditional disinfection techniques, it is not based on the use of toxic gases (carcinogenic), but is based on the use of toxic gases (carcinogenic), but is based on the use of alternative ways of dealing with harmless, low environmental impact.

The ‘NR 1 O3‘ is an installation produced in collaboration with the University of Naples Federico II and covered by international patent, which operated for a few minutes in a confined environment, including hundreds of cubic meters, so saturated with ozone, while creating a few hours a
complete disinfection of all surfaces of the Treaty, including those not easily reached by a traditional intervention disinfezione.Il treatment involves the removal of all microorganisms present in bacteria, molds, yeasts, but even small organisms like mites above, fleas, small insects, etc…

The effectiveness of ozone disinfectant has been certified by the chair of hygiene II Policlinico Naples, following the execution of specific tests.
The equipment in our opinion may be profitably used in ANY ENVIRONMENT and wherever you need a hygiene profonda.Peraltro treatment leaves no residue in the Treaty, in fact, ozone as allotropic form of oxygen is unstable and decays into oxygen after a certain time (half-life approximately 30 minutes). Treatment, it is stressed, have low costs compared to other techniques in use and requires only electrical power for a few watts (150 W) and for a few minutes to intervene, and the need for operator intervention is kept to a minimum being limited to ‘affixing the apparatus, its activation and removal at the end of treatment. It is not even required any authorization by the health authorities, not the ozone particularly dangerous for humans, however this gas is the major property that we have a threshold of sensitivity for the man of much less than that of toxicity. Finally, the treatment does not require any amount of preparation to consumption, using only the oxygen in the air, turned into ozone and oxygen that returns after treatment.
It would therefore supplement the normal operations of disinfection and disinfestation.
